i love boiled octopus, but it’s hard to find them in NZ, there are only frozen baby octopus.

You can’t find them at the fish market? If not, try online. They sell tentacles in a sealed bag.

I have recently come back form a trip from Japan and I miss everything so much. It’s always been my dream since I was a little girl to go and I just can’t wait until I return! =D One of the many things I missed so much after returning home was the food, specifically, Osaka style okonomiyaki. I’m a absolutely awful cook so I was nervous about making it. However, your video was super helpful and cute! Once I finished and ate it, it took me straight back to Osaka! (^-^) Thank you very much!

Where can you find thinly sliced meats in the US? Can you get a butcher to slice pork belly for you? The only thinly sliced pork you can find at the supermarket is bacon, and I don’t think bacon would be very good in this.

    • NBChnW より:

You can use uncured bacon. It still taste good. It’s very hard to find sliced pork in US markets, unless you go to asian market.

    • FerretsForever94 より:

Most asian supermarkets carry thinnly sliced meats in the freezer section. If not, ask your butcher to do it for you. Say you want it very thin, like bacon.

    • 禄Abby より:

Bad Hombre you could also take pork belly and freeze it and wait for it to mostly thaw so you can make thin slices of it without having too much trouble, I have done this for pork to put in Japanese curry because we don’t have this either I also live in America and I even have trouble finding pork belly I just used cuts of pork that had some fat on them

_”Can I put bacon? Can I use chorizo?”_
The name Okonomiyaki is derived from the word okonomi, meaning “how you like” or “whatever you like”, and yaki meaning “grill”. *Feel free to go cheeki breeki on your okonomiyaki!*

  5. Amazing Human より:

It’s mesmerizing to see bonito flakes move. It’s like they’re dancing!

  17. Kristin Wright より:

Hi Francis! I so love going back to the older videos when he was more frisky (and alive.) You have created a beautiful legacy for your wonderful pup. I have said it before and I’ll say it again here. This channel so inspired my cooking that I named my Japanese fold-forged Santoku knife Francis. Tradition says you must name your knives or they will turn on you. I use Francis every day.

  18. Janelle May Del Rosario より:
